These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the website and services operated by Frame by Frame, an individual business based in Siena, Italy (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing our website, creating an account, purchasing products, submitting film, or participating in the Community Album, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Business Information

2. Definitions
Customer / You: Any natural person purchasing products or services
Film: Any photographic film submitted for development or scanning
Services: Film development, scanning, push/pull processing
Community Album: Monthly photography contest linked to eligible purchases
Scans: Digital files produced from film negatives
3. Scope of Services
We provide:
Sale of our own branded photographic film
Film development (ECN-2, C-41, Black & White, push/pull)
Film scanning (digital delivery only)
Community Album participation linked to eligible products
We do not offer prints.
4. Film Sales (Physical Products)
4.1 Product Nature
Our films are analog photographic materials. Results may vary due to factors outside our control, including but not limited to:
Camera condition
Exposure accuracy
Storage conditions
Transport damage
X-ray exposure
Environmental factors
Minor defects, aesthetic variations, or subjective dissatisfaction do not constitute defects.
4.2 Returns
Returns are accepted only if the product is unused, unopened, and in original condition
Return shipping costs are borne by the customer
Opened or used film is non-returnable
5. Lab Services
5.1 Nature of Film Processing
Analog film processing involves inherent risk. While we operate carefully and professionally, film is a fragile medium.
5.2 Excluded Liability
We are not liable for issues arising from:
Expired or improperly stored film
Improper camera loading
Mechanical camera failure
Pre-existing damage
Manufacturer defects
X-ray or heat damage
Incorrect exposure by the user
5.3 Turnaround Time
Standard turnaround: approximately one (1) week
Turnaround times are estimates only, not guarantees
Delays do not entitle the customer to refunds or compensation.
6. Loss, Damage & Liability Cap
If film is lost or damaged due solely to our fault:
We will refund the service fee
AND provide one replacement roll of equivalent value
This is the maximum liability.
We do not compensate for artistic, sentimental, or commercial value.
7. Shipping & Risk Transfer
7.1 Inbound Shipping
Film sent to us is shipped entirely at the customer’s risk.
7.2 Outbound Shipping
Risk transfers to the customer at dispatch.
7.3 Lost Packages
Claims must be made through the courier. We assist where possible but are not the insurer.
8. Digital Files & Storage
Scans are made available for download for 7 days
After 7 days, files may be permanently deleted
We do not guarantee backups
Storage is best-effort only
Customers are responsible for downloading and backing up their files.
9. Copyright & Usage Rights
You retain full copyright to your images
You grant us a non exclusive, royalty free license to:
Display images in the Community Album
Share on social media
Use for website and promotional purposes
Credit will always be given where reasonably possible.
10. Community Album & Contest Rules
10.1 Eligibility
Participation is available only to customers who purchase:
Eligible bundles
Subscriptions
No separate entry is possible.
10.2 Participation Workflow
Customer purchases an eligible product
Customer shoots and submits film for scanning
Upon scan delivery, customer has 5 days to select images for contest entry
Images are assigned to the month of submission
Images are posted on Instagram at month end
Voting period lasts one calendar month
Winner is determined by highest number of Instagram likes
Winner is announced on the first day of the following month
10.3 Prize
One casual bundle
Non-transferable
No cash alternative
10.4 Prize Exclusion
Bundles or products received as prizes, rewards, gifts, or compensation, including Community Album prizes, do not qualify as eligible purchases and do not grant entry into future Community Album contests.
11. Contest Rules (Community Album)
Content must be suitable for Instagram. The following are strictly prohibited:
Nudity or explicit sexual content
Hate speech or symbols
Illegal content
AI generated images
We reserve the right to reject or remove submissions with explanation.
12. Moderation & Disputes
We moderate submissions at our discretion
Explanations will be provided where feasible
We are not responsible for disputes between users or public reactions on social platforms
13. Accounts & Termination
Users may create accounts
We reserve the right to:
Suspend or terminate accounts
Refuse service
Cancel participation
This may occur at our sole discretion, especially in cases of abuse, fraud, or misconduct.
14. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
Postal disruptions
Power failures
Natural disasters
Platform outages
15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
Governing law: Italian law
Consumer disputes: courts of the consumer’s EU domicile
Non-consumer disputes: courts of Siena, Italy
